INDIA, G-20 AND CRB, Interview (VIDEO)

CRB, the "Centre for Responsible Business" was established in 2011 as a think-tank oriented to pursue its vision: ‘businesses integrate sustainability into their core business practices’.

In 2018, Hexagon Group was invited to participate in CRB's annual conference, in New Delhi, for discussing about Multi-Stakeholders´ Methodologies and Tech for Sustainability and Impact Investments Acceleration.

The results of November 2018 served as a key learning in preparation for what would later be called (in America) the "Santa Cruz Network of Impact Investors", launched in Washington D.C., exactly one year after our talks in India, on November 2019.

Under a South-South and Global look, mediated by the liberal model of "Business in the Community" developed in the UK, The work of CRB is linked to the work of Hexagon Group, and we both, as organizations, have developed a research and development relation based in a common reading and commenting of our works, papers, and contributions for the issues discussed during the last 5 years.

This 2023, will be a special year in the application of the common understanding of technical works not only because of the launch of Freemium Hexagon Dialogue in India (jointly with CRB in India) but because of the impact we can create at the global scale from there, the largest global democracy, and the country that will be -during 2023- the President of G-20.

The clues for understanding how Santa Cruz Network of Impact Investment can serve together with the Freemium Hexagon Dialogue and the leadership of CRB, can be understood better by reading the following article written by the CEO of CRB, Rijit Sengupta:

Given that sustainability is a multi-dimensional problem, especially in the context of India and other emerging economies, CRB will work with us for engaging multiple stakeholders to develop action plans for promoting sustainable/responsible business, across various sectors in India and among our continents.

Here the tRANSCRIPTS of our agreements (Video) of today, as both, CEOs of CRB and Hexagon Group Lat-Am/UK-Global:

RSC@ADNPLUS CSPINC.TECH@HEXAGONGROUP: Okay. Today is the 11th of January 2023. And we are with Rijit Sengupta. He's the CEO of CRB. Dr. Rijit, thank you for sending us your article about the situation in India and for sharing here your message on India as president of the G20. We had discussed a little bit internally about the possibilities of extending our work together, CRB and Hexagon for the future. So, please your message for our audience.

Rijit Sengupta: Sure, thank thanks so much Roberto for this opportunity and really happy to be here. So as as you are aware and as we've discussed, you know, India assumes the presidency of the G20 about a month and a little ago. This presidency will run through the year 2023. . The theme of the the G20 for India is “one earth, one family, one future”. That is essentially part of the Indian tradition of collaboration, openness and reason.

Rijit Sengupta: As an organization, the Center for Responsible Business, which I represent is proposing the creation of a Collaborative Initiative on Sustainable Global Value Chains. I've shared the article with you essentially under the idea of bringing together the G20 members to create this initiative, based on collaboration across all the member states, to create global value chains, which are sustainable, inclusive and resilient, especially on materials, resources, products and trade. We will involve the movement of those materials across the various countries that are members and their global value chains.

Rijit Sengupta: The idea is to see how, together, we can support the impact of this initiative. We have suggested to the Indian presidency to consider being part of this and we hope that we all are considered as partners. Cooperation will really bring together capabilities of all the members plus their partners in the North and the South, together with the G20. Our common Tools will be useful to discuss and identify certainty on common issues that are critical from a social, environmental and economic perspective.

Rijit Sengupta: The work is to design the global value chains. That would be done in such a way that we ensure, via workshops, that all these common areas of interest pertaining to social economic and environmental sustainability are addressed to ensure that the voices, which remain unheard are raised to get heard and ensure that the ones who are most vulnerable and marginalized are given the opportunity to be part and their interests and aspirations are not only kept in view, but included as partners. That global value chain will have projects designed and implemented. And this is really is in line with the work and the principles of Hexagon dialogue, you know: leaving no one behind. So essentially that is what we have suggested and we hope to work with you this year.

Rijit Sengupta: Happy of reading soon your writing, and also the comments you will get after sharing this with your vast network and with your educated audience. So, thanks, once again, Roberto for the opportunity of communicating.

RSC@ADNPLUS CSPINC.TECH@HEXAGONGROUP: Thanks to you dear Rijit. Very happy to hear about what you're doing there. Congratulate India.

RSC@ADNPLUS CSPINC.TECH@HEXAGONGROUP: On behalf of us here in Latin America and of course with your help I'm sure that all the leaders there will get together for advancing

Rijit Sengupta: Right.

Rijit Sengupta: Thanks so much.

RSC@ADNPLUS CSPINC.TECH@HEXAGONGROUP: Before you leave, please: three words for the Hexagon Dialogue from India,

Rijit Sengupta: Well, I think this is so relevant and extremely timely and also congratulate you for the work that you have been doing through this time for the Hexagon Dialogue. The Multi-Stakeholder collaboration is now key and we should not miss this opportunity.

RSC@ADNPLUS CSPINC.TECH@HEXAGONGROUP: Perfect. Thanks to you and I'm sure in November we will see each other together in Delhi hopefully and before, if we have the opportunity of having you here in Latin America.

Rijit Sengupta: Absolutely.

Rijit Sengupta: I will keep you. I'll keep you informed, there's a possibility but I'll keep you informed.

Rijit Sengupta: Thank you so much. Thank you so…

Meeting ended after 00 hours 08 minutes and 10 seconds.
